So you've brought home your new puppy, it's time to name your new animal friend but you’re running short on ideas. Choosing a name for your dog can be hard if you aren't feeling very creative, so here are a few tips I learned along the way ...

If your pet is adopted, try to keep his or her name.
Create a short list of preferred names
Choose a name that is easily recognized
Names should not should like basic instructions (come, sit..etc)
Choose a name that symbolizes how your pet acts
The name should be easy to call out
If it sounds good, keep it. Otherwise try another one.
